Dr. Shideh Pejman, DDS

Prior to dental school, I earned an Honors Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, where I learned how substances work, what their inherent properties are, and how they interact. This knowledge is invaluable in dentistry, where different materials must work together in a moist environment. Being a chemist is still a part of me — I enjoy watching chemistry experiments online, like extracting gold from rocks, because I’m fascinated by these kinds of transformations.

My chemistry degree included a research project, and I continued pursuing research in
dental school. In 2015, I was recognized as Researcher of the Year by Dentsply Sirona for my dedication to research and presenting at several conferences. These experiences taught me to stay objective and make evidence-based recommendations for my patients. While this careful approach may come across as deliberate, healthy skepticism ensures treatments are reliable and long-lasting.

I’ve also fundraised and volunteered abroad to provide free dental care to communities in need, which taught me to approach care thoughtfully and efficiently while respecting each patient’s unique situation. Patients often appreciate that I’m focused and present during every visit. I have completed advanced training in dental sleep medicine and am working toward Diplomate status through the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, allowing me to take a broad, medically informed approach when appropriate.

Outside the office, I spend time studying, meditating, and exploring Pilates, practices that help me stay grounded, focused, and fully present for every patient. I bring the same care and attention to dentistry that I strive to bring to every aspect of life, combining technical skill with thoughtfulness and integrity.
